Toes in the Water

My granddaughter had her first experience with the pool. They dunked her toes. Sorry for the redness of the photos - they were under a red umbrella.

I used this sketch from Stuck?!Sketches

Here is my layout

I really mixed things up with supplies! I added washi tape, mists, texture paste, chipboard, etc.

Live Love and Laugh

Our granddaughter is such a happy baby. She loves to laugh! I bought these blocks so her mom can take a photo every day:) And she has! This was at 63 days - she is now 75 days! I used the Stick it Down sketch.

And here is my layout

Sorry for the flower over her face. My daughter does not want me posting photos of the baby on line and I am abiding by her wishes.

Tried to use lots of tags and die cuts for this.

Thanks for stopping by!

Reach for the Stars

I have been creating for an upcoming show/sale in July. I was inspired by a card I saw and recreated it on a canvas. I used paper from a children's book for the moon, a wood star and a bear made out of canvas.

I think it came out cute.

Adding this to Mixed Media Monthly Challenge Blog where I chose #26 Reach for the Stars!

My timing was perfect for this! This is a great blog with wonderful inspiration! I hope you check it out.

Experimenting

I am experimenting again with paint pouring. I stamped the canvas and then poured paint. The idea was to make a flower. I am not sure why I picked blues instead of yellows and oranges. My center got kind of out of control. Will have to try again.

Voyage

The theme for Grumbacher's ATC swap is Voyage. Not sure why, but I thought of a sailboat trekking across the ocean. I created this ATC by combining an acrylic background with mixed media pieces for the boat. I used a map and dictionary paper.

I sometimes feel like a sailboat adrift in the ocean as I navigate my spot in this world of art. I still am experimenting and finding my way.

Traveling Art Journal

I am excited and happy to be participating in a Traveling Art Journal among the Design Team of CanvasCorpBrands! Each participant created a journal which is traveling around the world. At the end of the year, I will get my book back filled with wonderful journal pages. It is so much fun to see what everyone does.

For May, I chose to center my page around the quote

To travel is like a feather in the wind, the adventure is unknown until you arrive at your destination.

I used my Mix and Match Pad - Sand and Sea and a new Artchitexture Feather.  The background was created using Tattered Angels Glimmer Mists.

Here is my page

Here is a link to the blogpost on the Canvas Corp Blog where you can see all of the pages which were done!

Thank You

I made this thank you card using water color pens and stamps!  It was quite simple to do but looks very pretty.

Welcome to the World

Those of you who are regulars, know I have a new granddaughter. She is 47 days old now! The biggest drawback is they live in Phoenix and I live in Michigan. When I see her, which is just about monthly, I take tons of photos. It is fun trying to hold a sleeping baby while balancing a cell phone and camera and taking photos! But that is what I do!

I was lucky enough to receive a gift of Bella Blvd. Sweet Baby Girl Collection. It is just perfect for this!

Jamaica

In 2000, we enjoyed a family vacation in Jamaica to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary.  We enjoyed the beaches, snorkeling and family dinners at wonderful restaurants.  My daughter completed her Jamaican experience by getting her hair braided. It was a great look for her and perfect for the outdoor activities!

To complete this layout, I grabbed my
Mix and Match Pad - Sand and Sea from Canvas Corp Brands

Mix and Match Pad: Sand and Sea
This pad has pattern paper, canvas printed paper, burlap and more!

I also used my Tattered Angels Mists - Brights and Coffee Shop

Glimmer Mist Starter Kit - BrightsGlimmer Mist - Coffee Shop

I misted the background and created layers of the waves with the pattern paper. After fussy cutting the Seahorse and Shell, I painted them with Coffee Shop.

These Mix and Match pads make it so easy to pull a layout together!
